On April 25, the opening ceremony of the Ministry of Education's educational exchange program with Taiwan - "Cross-Strait Frontier Science and Technology Study Camp in New Materials" was held in CHD. Vice President Fan Wen and Vice President Su Chunying of National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (NYUST) attended the meeting. The main person in charge of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Office (HMTO) and College of Materials, and the main person in charge of NYUST Cross-Strait Affairs Office attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Gao Wei, Deputy Director of the CHD HMTO.
Fan Wen reviewed the history of cooperation and exchange between the CHD and NYUST, then briefly introduced the situation of educational exchange between CHD and universities in Taiwan, and the development of educational exchange programs to Taiwan.He pointed out that the two sides of the Taiwan Strait are the same origin with the same culture. He hoped that the two sides would strengthen academic and cultural exchanges through this study camp, promote cross-strait integration and intercommunication, enhance the feelings of the youth on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and take this opportunity to actively carry out broad, multi-level and high-level exchanges and make due contributions to promoting cross-strait educational exchanges and cooperation.
Su Chunzeng introduced the basic situation of NYUST from the aspects of school history, discipline construction and inter-university exchanges. He pointed out that the cultural traditions of both sides of the Taiwan Strait are handed down from one generation to the next, and the university treasures the cultural and educational exchanges with CHD. He hoped that more teachers and students from CHD would come to the university in the future to create more opportunities for promoting cross-strait educational exchanges, and that the two universities would learn from each other and complement each other's advantages to achieve a win-win situation.
Jiang Zaiwen, director of the University's HMTO, introduced the activity arrangement and implementation plan of the study camp; Pan Weihua, director of cross-strait affairs of NYUST, introduced specific initiatives to strengthen cooperation and exchange between the two universities through the study camp.
The 2022 Ministry of Education's educational exchange program to Taiwan, "Cross-Strait Study Camp on Frontier Science and Technology in the Field of New Materials", focuses on the frontier of economic and social development, uses the online live mode to carry out extensive exchanges, promotes high-level and in-depth academic exchanges and cooperation between teachers and students across the Taiwan Strait through academic lectures and cultural exchanges, and makes positive contributions to cross-strait educational exchanges and development. We will make positive contributions to the development of cross-strait education.
