On the morning of October 20, the Academician of the Canadian Royal Academy of Sciences, the academician of Canadian Academy of Engineering, IEEEFellow, University of Waterloo Electrical and Computer Engineering Professor Shen Xuemin, Zhuang Weihua visited our university. Professor Zhao Xiangmo,Vice President of CHD, accompanied by the main responsible people of Office of International Cooperation and School of Information Engineering, met with the visiting guests in the VIP room of the Academic Exchange Center on the south campus of CHD.

Vice President Zhao Xiangmo extended a warm welcome to Professor Shen Xuemin and Professor Zhuang Weihua for their visit. He briefly introduced the basic situation of Chang’an University to the guests and focused on the international cooperation and exchange in the field of intelligent transportation in combination with Professor Shen Xuemin’s research field. He pointed out that over the years, our university had been committed to international development, constantly giving full play to CHD discipline characteristics, training a large number of high-level engineering management and technical talents in the field of transportation, and our university’s research team had been deeply involved in many major national infrastructure construction projects and played an important role. He also mentioned that Professor Shen Xuemin is international leading experts in the field of connected cars and autopilot, has outstanding academic attainments, rich practical experience and has made remarkable achievements in the industry. He that Professor Professor Shen Xuemin would take this visit as an opportunity, relying on schools "111 subject innovation base" exchanging "accredited by the ministry of transport autopilot closed field test base" and other key research platforms, open up the door to our mutual cooperation and communication in this field, learn from each other and pursue common development.
Professor Shen Xuemin expressed sincere gratitude for the warm reception of our university, appreciated the outstanding contributions made by the school in the field of infrastructure construction, and highly agreed with vice President Zhao Xiangmo’s work plan of promoting the development of the discipline through internationalization. He briefly introduced his work experience, research field and international academic cooperation and exchange. He pointed out that Chang’an University has comprehensive development concept, distinctive advantages, solid research foundation, commendable achievements in the field of transportation. He said that he was very willing to carry out in-depth exchanges with the relevant scientific research teams of our university, and start the cooperation and exchanges between the two sides in talent training, scientific research and other related fields as soon as possible, so as to promote the establishment of a long-term and stable cooperative relationship between the two sides.
After the meeting, Professor Shen Xuemin and Professor Zhuang Weihua went to the school of Information Engineering and made academic reports entitled Reinforcement Learning for Resource Management in space-air-ground (SAG) Integrated Vehicular Networks and Service Provisioning in 5G Communication Networks and carried on the thorough exchange and the extensive discussion with the teachers and students attending the meeting.
Professor Shen Xuemin is an academician of the Royal Canadian Academy of Sciences, Canadian Academy of Engineering, and Engineering Institute of Canada, IEEE Fellow and a tenured professor of the University of Waterloo. His research interests include wireless resources optimization management, wireless network security, wireless body area network and sensor network, car network, within the field of vehicle communication network. He has a profound academic research background, enjoys a high reputation, and so far has published more than 500 papers on international academic journals, more than 500 international conference papers, and more than 60 academic monographs.
Professor Zhuang Weihua is an academician of the Royal Canadian Academy of Sciences, Canadian Academy of Engineering, and Engineering Institute of Canada IEEE Fellow, president of technical committee of IEEE VTC 2016 and 2017, chairman of the IEEE vehicle technology association, vice President of Canada wireless communications networks of research, a tenured professor of the University of Waterloo, Canada, a former editor of the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology (2007-2013). Her main research interests are wireless network service quality assurance and smart grid. He is the best paper winner of several top IEEE conferences, and has published more than 300 academic papers and 8 monographs in international first-class academic journals and conferences.
