Prof. Tore Hoven from NTNU visited CHD

On the morning of January 10th, Professor Tore Hoven, Director of the International Program of the Faculty of Engineering, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and Prof. Olav Torp, Associate Dean of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, were invited to visit our school. Sha Aimin, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the University, met with the visiting guests in the VIP room of the Academic Exchange Center. Guests, high-level talent offices, international cooperation and exchange offices, and relevant leaders of the Highway College met with them.

Deputy Secretary Sha Aimin welcomed Professor Tore Hoven's visit. He briefly introduced the school's development history, school scale, subject characteristics, personnel training and international exchanges, and highlighted the school's role in the development of the discipline, industry development and market demand. Guided by, strengthen the close integration of production, education and research, and make outstanding contributions in the development of the industry and the construction of major national infrastructure projects. He pointed out that the school has always been committed to promoting the international development strategy and attaches great importance to cooperation with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He hopes that the visit of the Professor Tore Hoven and the exchange of inter-school agreements between the two universities will serve as an opportunity to open cooperation and exchanges between the two universities in various fields.

 

Professor Tore Hoven expressed sincere gratitude to the warm reception of our school and endorsed the basic concept of Deputy Secretary Sha Aimin on promoting the international development of the school. He expressed his appreciation for the outstanding contribution made by the university in the field of infrastructure construction and briefly introduced Norway. He pointed out that the Norwegian University of Science and Technology is a university with distinctive characteristics in the field of civil engineering and environmental engineering research in Norway. The school pays attention to cooperation with industry enterprises and has many similarities with the development model of our school. He said that the visit was mainly entrusted by the principal, exchanged cooperation agreements between the two universities and discussed cooperation in related fields. It is hoped that the two sides will establish close cooperative relations in the future, learn from each other's strengths, seek common development, and strive to push cooperation to more fields and higher levels.

 

After the meeting, Deputy Secretary Sha Aimin exchanged the cooperation agreement with Professor Tore Hoven.

 

During the visit, Prof. ToreHoven and his party held a study and exchange meeting at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology; visited the school's transportation hall, new pavement technology and accelerated loading research platform; and inspected the cooperation project with Dublin University.

 

The Norwegian University of Science and Technology is Europe's leading science and engineering university with the most advanced engineering and technology research centre in Norway. Its engineering, computer, medical and other disciplines are among the highest in the world. Five alumni of the school won the Nobel Prize. The latest QS World University ranked 363.
