Prof. Inge Hoff from the NTNU was invited to visit CHD.

On the morning of August 14, 2018, at the invitation of the Innovative Intelligence Base of the Sustainable Development of Highway Engineering in Special Regions, IngeHoff, a professor at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, visited our school. Sha Aimin, deputy secretary of the school party committee, met with the visitors in the VIP room of the Academic Exchange Center. The relevant departments of the Science and Technology Department, the High-level Talent Office, the International Office and the Highway College accompanied the meeting.

 

Deputy Secretary Sha Aimin welcomed Professor Inge Hoff's visit. He briefly introduced the school's development history, school scale, subject characteristics and personnel training, and highlighted the school's role in promoting the national infrastructure construction industry. Cultivate and make outstanding contributions in the construction of major projects. He pointed out that the school has always been committed to promoting the international development strategy, and is very happy to work with internationally renowned universities such as the Norwegian University of Science and Technology to learn from each other and seek common development. He hopes that with the visit of Professor IngeHoff and his entourage as an opportunity, he will continue to deepen the friendly and cooperative relations between the two sides and strive to push cooperation to more fields and higher levels.

 

Professor IngeHoff expressed sincere gratitude to the warm reception of our school, expressed appreciation for the contribution of our school in the field of national infrastructure construction, and briefly introduced the basic situation of the engineering discipline of Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He pointed out that the Norwegian University of Science and Technology is the only university in Norway that has a training system for transportation disciplines. It has many similarities with our school. He said that he fully endorsed the proposal of Deputy Secretary Sha Aimin on the internationalization development strategy of the school and hoped to continue to promote more substantive cooperation between the two sides and strive to promote cooperation at the school-level level.

After the meeting, the head of the International Office of our school conducted in-depth discussions and exchanged views with Professor Inge Hoff on the specific issues of cooperation between the two universities and the signing process of the cooperation agreement. Subsequently, Prof. Inge Hoff and his team made two academic reports on “Sustainabilety thinking in large infractructure projects” and “Frost projection of roads andrailways” in the fifth conference room of the Academic Exchange Center, and visited the Highway College Laboratory.

The Norwegian University of Science and Technology is a well-known European university of science and engineering. It has the most advanced research center for engineering and industrial technology in Norway. It enjoys a high reputation in Europe and has trained a large number of highly qualified engineers in Norway and the world. Its shipbuilding, petroleum, fishery, medical, computer technology and nanotechnology disciplines are among the best in the world, and five alumni have won the Nobel Prize. In the 2018 World University Rankings, the school ranked 259th in the world.
