On October 15th 2017, Prof. Jean Andrey, dean of Faculty of Environmental Sciences of University of Waterloo Canada was invited to visit Chang’an University. Vice President Zhao Junhai welcomed the guests at the Academic Exchange Center, accompanied by heads of the International Office and School of Geological Engineering.

Vice President Zhao extended his warm welcome to the arrival of Prof. Jean Andrey and briefly introduced the college from the perspectives of school size, characteristic of subjects, and cultivation of talents. Vice President Zhao recalled the scene when he met with Prof. Jean Andrey at the University of Waterloo last year and reviewed the exchange and cooperation between the two parties in the field of staff and student exchanges, research cooperation and other fields. Vice President Zhao said Chang’an University attaches great importance to cooperation and exchanges with universities and research institutions around the world and strives to improve the level of international cooperation and exchange through staff exchange, joint training and research cooperation. He also hoped that through this visit, the two universities can enhance cooperation and exchanges in the fields of staff exchange, research cooperation, students' joint trainingand other fields.

Prof. Jean Andrey expressed her appreciation for the reception and highly endorsed the idea proposed by Vice President Zhao. She hoped the two parties can further the cooperation through this visit. Besides, she pointed out the two parties can cooperate in more fields based on environmental science. Then she hoped the all-round cooperation can be enhanced in the fields of staff exchange, research cooperation, students' joint training and other fieldson the basis of equality and mutual benefit, complementary advantages, mutual cooperation and common development.

After the meeting, the two sides discussed about the students exchange programs, joint laboratory and other specific issues, and reached broad consensus.
