On September 25th 2017, Professor Степанова Т.А, vice president of Moscow Power Engineering Institute, visited Chang’an University. Vice President Zhao Junhai welcomed the guest at the Academic Exchange Center, accompanied by heads of the International Office, School of Electronic Information and Control, and School of Environmental Engineering and Science.

Vice President Zhao Junhai extended his warm welcome to the arrival of Professor Степанова Т.А and briefly introduced the college from the perspectives of school size, characteristic of subjects, and cultivation of talents. Also, he introduced international exchanges in detail. Mr. Zhao also reviewed the cooperation between Chang’an University and Moscow Power Engineering Institut, and he said Chang’an University has always thought highly of the cooperation with Russian colleagues and universities. With the framework of China-Russia culture exchange, Chang’an University aims to collaborate with Russian schools in the fields of staff exchange, academic exchange, research cooperation, and community service. The University made great efforts to play a big role in the field of infrastructure construction. At last, on behalf of President Chen Feng, Professor Zhao Junhai invited Professor Степанова Т.А to“The Fourth Forum of Rectors of Transport Universities of Russia, China and countries along the Belt And Road

Professor Степанова Т.А expressed her appreciation for the reception and briefly introduced recent development of Moscow Power Engineering Institute. Then she highly endorsed Vice President Zhao's idea about long-term cooperation plan. She also hoped that the two universities could further cooperation in more fields and promote closer collaborations.

After the meeting, Professor Zhao Junhai, on behalf of Chang’an University, and Professor Степанова, on behalf of Moscow Power Engineering Institute signed the agreement of Comprehensive Partnershipof Cooperation.

Moscow Power Engineering Institute, which is a national research university in Russia, was established in 1930. It is one of the most significant university in the fields of power, electric energy, electronics and informatics. There are 9academies, 70 staff rooms and 176 laboratories in the university. The staff contains 10 academicians of Russian Academy of Sciences and 359 professors. More than 200,000 students graduated form this university. It is also the Alma mater of Li Peng, the Premier of the State Council.
