On September 25th 2017, Professor Pericles A.MITKAS, Rector of Aristotle University Thessaloniki IN Greece, visited Chang’an University. Vice President Zhao Junhai welcomed the guest at the Academic Exchange Center, accompanied by heads of the International Office, School of Information Engineering and School of Geology Engineering.

Vice President Zhao Junhai extended his warm welcome to the arrival of Professor Pericles A.MITKAS and briefly introduced the college from the perspectives of school size, characteristic of subjects, and cultivation of talents. Also, he introduced international exchanges in detail.

He said that Chang’an University pays great attention to the exchange and cooperation with Aristotle University and higher educational institutes along the Belt and Road.  He hoped that through this visit, both parties can further the cooperation in every field based on previous cooperation. And the two parties can have new breakthroughs in staff and students exchanges, scientific research and etc.

Professor Pericles A.MITKAS expressed his appreciation for the reception and briefly introduced recent development of Aristotle University. Then he highly endorsed Vice President Zhao's idea about long-term cooperation plan. He also hoped that the two universities could further cooperation in more fields and promote closer collaborations.

Aristotle University is the largest university in Greece, located in the second biggest city of Greece: Thessaloniki. It ranked 461^st in 2017 by QS, and is the leading research-intense comprehensive university in Greece. The university has a full set of disciplines and is quite strong in engineering disciplines. It has now established cooperation with prestigious Chinese universities including Shanghai Jiaotong University and Fudan University.
