On September 11st 2017, Professor Iain HepburnWatt, Vice President of University of Western Australia, visited Chang’an university. President Chen Feng welcomed the guests at the Academic Exchange Center, accompanied by Vice President Zhao Junhai, heads of the President’s Office, International Office, School of Highway, School of Information Engineering and School of Economics and Management.
President Chen Feng extended his warm welcome to the arrival of Professor Iain HepburnWatt and briefly introduced the university from the perspectives of school size, characteristic of subjects, and cultivation of talents. Also, he introduced international exchanges in detail. He hoped that through this visit, both parties can further the cooperation in every field based on previous cooperation. And the two parties can have new breakthroughs in staff and students exchanges, scientific research and etc.
Vice President Iain HepburnWatt expressed his appreciation for the reception and briefly introduced recent development of University of Western Australia. He said that this visit aims to establish a high quality interaction platform for faculty members from both sides on the basis of the signing of the agreements between two universities. He hoped that the two universities could further cooperation in more fields and promote closer collaborations.
After the meeting, Vice President Zhao Junhai and Vive President Iain HepburnWatt signed the MOU between the two universities.
University of Western Australia (UWA) was founded in 1911, famous for its education quality and career building spirit all over the world. It is one of the Group of the Eight in Australia, ranking 93rd in the newest QS ranking. The university is located in Perth, capital of Western Australia, and is one of the oldest universities in the state. UWA pays great attention to the cultivation of scientific research ability, and is one of the top research-intense universities.
