President Chen Fend welcomed the guests and gave a brief introduction to Chang’an University form the aspects of university history, education scale, discipline features and talent nurturing. He gave a detailed introduction to the university’s research development of transportation area in recent years and the short-term and long-term development strategy of the transportation engineering first class discipline. He said that transportation engineering of Chang’an University has a deep effect at home and abroad, and also has great cooperation space with

, and he hoped that the three visiting professors and experts in related areas could give Chang’an University more guidance and help in scientific research and talent nurturing.
The three visiting professors extended gratitude to the warm welcome and gave a brief introduction to the Overseas Chinese Transportation Association and the research achievements of each research team. They showed agreements to the ideas put forward by President Chen Feng and hoped that both sides could broaden cooperation area, innovate cooperation methods based on the existing cooperation foundation, and work together to promote and establish deep and long-term collaboration and overseas counseling relation.
During the visit, Professor Wei Heng gave a serial of lectures: Traffic Flow Theory, Traffic Signal Phase Timing Designing Basis, Practical Experiences and Issues of Traffic Signal Control and ITS Technology, Dynamic Traffic Signal Phase Timing Design Basis, etc. Professor Gao Huaizhu gave a lecture named Cornell University Center for Transportation,Environment, and Community Health, the lectured was hosted by Professor Duan Zongtao, Associate Dean of Information School. She has published more than 20 papers on Transportation Research Part B: Methodological, Transportation Research Part C: Emerging Technologies, and IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, and hosts 2 American National Natural Scientific Fund projects.
