On the March 9th2017, Prof. Alex Visser, academician of the SAAE, senior professor of University of Pretoria, visited our university. Vice President Zhao Junhai welcomed the guests at the Academic Exchange Center, accompanied by heads of the International Office and School of Highway.
Vice President Zhao extended his warm welcome to the arrival of Prof. Alex Visser and briefly introduced the college from the perspectives of school size, characteristic of subjects, and cultivation of talents. Also, he introduced international exchanges in detail. He pointed out that international cooperation had become one of the major development strategies of our school. The school attaches great importance to cooperation and exchanges with universities and research institutions around the world. Our school strives to improve the level of international cooperation and exchange through staff exchange, joint training and research cooperation. He also hoped that through this visit, the two parties can enhance communication and mutual trust, and promote the cooperation in the field of transportation.
Prof. Alex Visser expressed his appreciation for the reception and highly endorsed the idea proposed by Vice President Zhao. He hoped the two parties can further the cooperation through this visit. Besides, he pointed out the two parties can cooperate in more fields based on road engineering, bridge engineering and transportation engineering. Then he hoped the all-round cooperation protocol can be signed as soon as possible.
After the meeting, Prof. Alex Visser made an academic report titled “The Design for Heavy Traffic Roads at Mines”.
