From July 15thto 18th2016，host by Chang’an University and International Association of Chinese Infrastructure Professionals, the 2016 International Conference of Transportation Infrastructure and Materials was held grandly.
On July 16that 8:30 AM, The opening ceremony was held in the Guest Hall of the Academic Centre. Prof. Zhou Wei ,the President of Chang’an University and the chairman of Executive Committee of ICTIM2016, Prof. Sha Aimin ,the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Prof. Gu Jin and Prof. Wang Fuming took part in the ceremony, the Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering took part in this conference. The opening ceremony was held by Prof. Xie Yongli, the dean of School of Highway, and Dr. Fang Yingwu ,the past chairman of IACIP as well as the Transport Department of Virginia. Zhou Wei ,the Chief Engineer, Prof.Sha Aimin,Vice president of Chang`an university and Prof.Han Jie ,the president of IACIP as well as professor of University of Kansas, gave a welcome speech on behalf of the Transport Department and Chang`an university as well as the International Association of Chinese Infrastructure Workers. Prof. Wang Fuming ,academician ofZhengzhou University,Prof. William Buttlar of University of Missouri andthe distinguished professor of "Thousand Talents Program", the professor Kelvin Wang of Oklahoma State University gave the keynote reportofthemeeting.
During the meeting, ICTIM2016 held 3keynote reports,79 branch meeting reports, 2 symposiums and a Tunnel innovative technology Sub-Forum. At each parallel sessions and thematic sessions ,the scholars ofdomestic and overseasofTraffic Engineering discussed deeply onSurface energy recovery and utilization, intelligent compaction,the asphalt cement and additives, asphalt concrete and its recycling,transport infrastructureresearch status and the future research trend,road infrastructure design,construction and maintenance of quality control and acceptance and other 14 topics and they alsoCarried on thorough discussions, summarized and communicated the new ideas ,new technology ,neworiginality, new tendency in the materials research, and also discussed the problems and challenges in the field oftransportation infrastructure and gave solutions as well.
The ICTIM2016 gathered 71 domestic and overseas institutionsof higher learning, scientific research institutions, governmental agencies and public institutions, 267 experts, scholars and administrative staffs of on transportation infrastructure and material research .Included in the more than 30 authors of foreign institutions and 200 domestic participants there are 2 academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering, 1 academician of South Africa's academy of engineering, 2 National "one thousand program" distinguished professors ,5Yangtse Rive Scholar extinguished professors,3Youth one thousand plan extinguished professors joined the meeting. ICTIM2016 has received more than 200 professional papers about national council from the United States, Singapore, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, and the other 15 countries, this papers have been deliberated by experts , 126 of them had been included in the collected papers, and they will be formally published by Destech ,apublishing companyin the United States.
ICTIM2016 was co-organized by Michigan Technological University, Washington State University, University of Kansas, Louisiana State University, Case Western Reserve University, Cold climate environment sustainable transportation center, and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. This meeting received strongly support from ASTM international organization for standard,the international association of cement pavement,American Society of Civil Engineers,the Transportation Research Board and other international organizations. ICTIM2016 gave the experts and scholars in the field of Transportation infrastructure around the world a platform. This meeting promoted our university`s international academic influence in the field of Transportation infrastructure , propelled the internationalization process of construction of our university, and also promoted the transportation engineering of our university to set up a “Double top development” strongly.
