On the morning of November 2, 2015, Professor Scott Sheppard, vice president of Queensland University of Technology and the delegation visited Chang’an University on invitation, President Ma Jian, and the Vice President Zhao Junhai held a conference at the Honorable Guest Hall in Academic Exchange Center and signed. Student Joint-education Agreement.
President Ma Jian extended a warm welcome to Professor Scott Sheppard, and gave an introduction to Chang’an University from the aspects of university history, campus distribution, discipline features and talent training. He said Chang’an University paid great attention to the collaboration and exchange with worldwide higher education institutions, besides focusing on advancing internationalization of faculty, scientific research and personnel training. At present, Chang’an University has established great cooperation relations with many Australian universities and carried out various forms of exchanges and cooperation. He hoped that exchange and collaboration between the two universities in various fields could be substantially pushed forward through the visit of Professor Scott Sheppard and signing of the Student Joint-education Agreements.
Professor Scott Sheppard also expressed sincere gratitude for the warm reception and introduced the basic situation of Queensland University of Technology from the aspects of university history, faculty and students scale, and discipline features. He pointed out that promoting the international work, widening the cooperation and exchanges with overseas universities especially the Chinese universities has become the core of the development strategy. He hoped cooperation with Chang’an University could be broadened through the joint-research, faculty visit on the basis of student joint-education.
After the meeting, Vice President Zhao Junhai and Vice President Scott Sheppard signed joint-education agreements in the No.5 Conference Room. Subsequently, Vice President Scott Sheppard visited the laboratory of School of Information Engineering.
