Recently, Ma Jian, the President of Chang' an University, P. R. China, and R. Bowen Loftin, the President of University of Missouri, USA signed the university-wide cooperation agreement and students’ jointly nurturing agreement.
According to the agreements, for their mutual development Chang' an University and University of Missouri will inniate students’ jointly nurturing programs in science and engineering to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of education, academic research and culture. The specific cooperation ways are Dual Bachelor’s-Master's Degree Program (3+1+1) and Dual Undergraduate Degree Program(2+2). Both parties will provide relevant information and technical support, share resources and information in cooperative fields. The agreements will provide both parties better opportunities and platforms for development.
University of Missouri was founded in 1839, which is the oldest university in the western Mississippi River and enjoys the reputation of one of the "Public Ivy" universities. It is now developed into a system of University of Missouri, including the main campus of Columbia, the branch campuses of Rolla, St. Louis and Kansas City with about 63,000 students. Institute of Technology and Institute of Communication at University of Missouri enjoy worldwide reputations. It takes cooperation with China’s state key developed universities such as Beijing University, Xia’men University and Sichuan University.
