On May 23, 2018, Professor Susan Louise Tighe,the Vice-president of the Waterloo University, chairman of Society of Canadian Civil Engineering and Professor Ningyuan Li, the chairman of the Alumni Association of Canada Visited Chang’an University. The vice secretary of university committee Sha Aimin welcomed the guests at the Academic Exchange Center, accompanied by the heads of the President Office, the International Office, School of Highway and School of Information engineering.
Vice secretary of university committee Sha Aimin gave a warm welcome to the Professor Susan Louise Tighe. Vice secretary of university committee Sha Aimin mentioned that University of Waterloo is a world-renowned university and had some commons with Chang’an University on the design of disciplines; there were a lot of potential cooperations of the two universities on scholars visiting, students exchange and research field, etc. He hoped that the two universities could based on the existed cooperation, and explore more diversified forms of joint training of Chinese and foreign students in form, optimize and upgrade the existing cooperative research platform, and produce more fruitful research results in cooperation.
Professor Susan Louise Tighe expressed her appreciation for the reception and agreed the plan of cooperation. And she appreciated the vice secretary Sha Aimin’s idea on cooperation of the two universities. She expressed that the University of Waterloo had been attaching importance to cooperation with Chang’an University, and the university had been working on implement and pushing on cooperation consensus of two universities.

After the meeting, the Professor Susan Lousie Tighe went to the School of Highway and the School of Information Engineering to have a thorough discussion on the related cooperation issues.
