On May 23th, 2017, the vice president of University of Waterloo Professor Ian Rowlands was invited to visit our University and President Chen Feng welcomed the guests in the Guest Hall at the Academic Center, accompanied by the chief directors of Dean’s Office, International Cooperation Office and School of Highway.
President Chen Feng expressed a warm welcome to the arrival of Professor Ian Rowlands and gave a brief introduction to the university from the size of the university, characteristics of subjects and personnel training and the development of internationalization. He has reviewed the cooperation process with University of Waterloo from the visit of faculty members, student exchanges and cooperative research, and exchanged opinions about the collaboration. He hoped that the foundation of cooperation with UW could be solidified through this opportunity and Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools with UW could be pushed forward as well as student exchange, faculty member visit and joint scientific research.
Professor Ian Rowlands expressed gratitude to the warm reception of our university and showed agreements to the cooperation ideas President Chen Feng put forward. He said UW pars great attention to the collaboration with Chang’an University, and has got fruitful achievements in student exchange, faculty member visit and joint scientific research. He hoped that the depth and width of the cooperation could be furthered and more in-depth collaboration between two sides could be established in the near future.
After the meeting, President Ian Rowlands visited the campus sand table and laboratories of School of Highway.
